At Highstreet, we believe that our company and our employees have an important stake in the prosperity, health and quality of life of our communities. Since our inception in 1998, we have operated a corporate citizenship program which has cultivated a culture of giving back and continues to be a shared goal amongst our teams.
An Imagine Caring Company
Since 2001, as an Imagine Canada Caring Company we have supported the principles of corporate citizenship and benchmarks for community investment established by Imagine Canada. Our commitment to Imagine is as follows:
- We commit a minimum of 1% of pre-tax domestic profit to support charitable and not for profit organizations
- We encourage and facilitate the personal giving and volunteer activities of our employees
- We champion and sustain at least one community investment project that leverages the skills and competencies of the company to make a difference in the community
- We demonstrate leadership by annually publishing a public Corporate Citizenship Report
Corporate Giving
The Highstreet Charitable Giving Committee is a staff-led Committee which focuses on how we support community-focused charities and not for profit organizations. Our contributions in recent years include:
- Funding grants to Women's Community House, Jesse's Journey, Vanier Children's Services, Distress Centre - London & District and 100 Who Care - London
- Supported London-based charities and not for profit organizations including Junior Achievement – London, Chinese Canadian National Council (London Chapter) and London Chamber of Commerce
- Employee payroll contributions to the United Way of London & Middlesex
- Sponsoring the arts, including performances at Orchestra London, Ballet Jorgen Canada, the Grand Theatre, the Stratford Festival, etc.
In addition to corporate giving, Highstreet services several registered charitable organizations and foundations. For each qualifying charitable client over $1 million, Highstreet contributed a donation equal to 10% of our investment management fee.
